What newsreader should I use?
Because our newsgroup is being served on the newest version of Netscape's
News Server, you will enjoy the most benefits from our newsgroup using
Netscape's Collabra News Reader, packaged in Netscape Communicator.
You can receive detailed download instructions from their home page at:
What benefits will I enjoy from using Netscape Communicator?
Because we are using Netscape's News Server, you can use the "Search Messages"
command found in the "Edit" menu in the Netscape news reader. This
feature will send a set of search parameters defined by you to the server and
after performing a query, will give you a list of messages that contain your
search parameters.
How do I know if there's any new, unread, messages in an old thread?
The thread icon will change from
to
, the arrow
indicating that there are new messages in the thread. Another option is
to click on the left arrow near the upper right hand corner until the "Unread"
field is displayed. This field tells you how many messages in a given thread
are unread.
I can post to the newsgroup okay, but none of my replies show up. Why?
You are most likely choosing "Reply to Sender" when you click on the reply
button in Netscape Collabra. This sends your reply as an e-mail message
instead of to the newsgroup. To send the reply to the newsgroup, choose
"Reply to Group" instead.
What is the IP address for the news server?
You should use the domain name: news.woll2woll.com, however, the
the IP address for the news server is 65.84.12.2.
